Frank was deaf
In 1910 census Frank was living at 2159 Story Avenue, Unionport.
Later he married and lived in Westfield, New Jersey. Frank's wife died early and left a son named Harold for Frank to look after. Later,Harold had a band as a hobby and also had a sign making business
With brother Jacob, Frank had a blacksmith business called J Kassler and Sons in a loft on Wooster Street in NYC. At first they shoed horses but at the time the business shut down they were mainly repairing pushcarts for the garment district in NYC.
During WW11 they had troubled getting materials and decided to close the business Frank stayed and became superintendent of the loft building. Here at 200 West Houston Street, New York, Frank accidentally fell to his death. Frank was retrieving a large garbage dumpster from the 3rd floor he accidentally walked backwards into an empty elevator shaft. Frank was pulling the dumpster which fell on top of him. Someone had called a warning to Frank but because he was deaf he did not hear.
