Annie Eliza Caroline Dupree

Known as Daisy. Daisy was descended from the Hugenots (French Protestants minority).
1901 Census living in St. Mary, Stratford at Bow.
Moved to Brighton when her husband retired, and continued living in Brighton after she was widowed. Her great grandchildren called her Grandma Brighton. The great grand children were warned to check any food Daisy may serve them, because her eyesight was so poor later in life. She lived to be 91 but died after losing her temper with a nurse 15th January 1953.
The Dupree family had been very successful in the silk business and joined with the Courtaulds. The Dupree side of the business concentrated in silk, while the Courtaulds specialized in articifical fibres. The artificial fibres became the successful side of the business.

Annie married Frank George Dimes, son of Isaac Dimes and Isabella Dearman, on 26 Aug 1891 in St. Stephen Bow. (Frank George Dimes was born in 1860 in Clerkenwell, London, England, christened on 25 Dec 1860 in St. Johns, Hampstead and died on 21 Aug 1949.)
