1702 Admitted Copyhold tenant in Manor of Mattishall of 3 roods of land inHighfield from the surrender of Henry Dymes, his brother who had the land from Rose in 1701. It later passed to Fortune Dymes.
1702 Admitted copyhold tenant of land in Mattishall Burgh from the surrender of his brother William who had the land from Rose in1701. It later passed to Fortune Dymes.
Will of John Dymes of Mattishall made on 12 April 1725.
Those goods of this world which it pleased the Lord to send me I dispose of them as followeth.
Item. I give and bequeath to Fortune my loving wife all my houses and lands being in Mattishall and Mattishall Burgh during the term of her natural life and after the decease of the said my loving wife to my son John Dymes and his heirs paying to my son Robert £20 one year after her decease and to Francis Dymes £15 two years after her decease.
Item. I give and bequeath to my son Robert all my working tools in the shop lying and being in Mattishall during the term of the natural life of Fortune my loving wife. I give him the tools for ever and the use of the shop during her life.
Item. I bequeath to my daughter Francis one bed as it stands and to my daughter Elizabeth one bed as it stands when demanded after my decease.
Item. I make my wife Fortune my sole executrix to this my last will and testament and give unto her all the rest of my goods and credits whatsoever. In witness whereof I have set my hand & seal the 12th day of April 1725.
The will was sworn on 24th April 1725. John signed his name.
