Will of Mary Dymes of Mattishall, widow, 1760
To my daughter Mary Ann Fortune the now wife of Edward Farrow of Scoulthorpe, Norfolk, farmer, land,,tenements etc. at South Green Mattishall now occupied by Sarah Dymes my daughter-in-law and Michael Bayer(?)
To John Dymes my grandson £4 when 20 years old.
To John Dymes my grandson my messages, lands & tenaments in Mattishall presently in the occupation of Henry Sowton and Robert Arthurton.
£8 to Sarah Dymes my daughter-in-law and Edward Farrow son-in-law within 12 months.
To Mary Ann Fortune, my daughter, my bed as it stands, two oval tables, chest of drawers, a napkin press, a long candlestick and warming pan on condition that she pays the whole charges of my funeral.
The rest of my personal estate i bequeath to my grandson John Dymes.
The will was made in 1756. Mary signed her name.
The 4 enclosures and two allotments near South Green, Mattishall were conveyed by Edward Farrer in 1802 to Thomas Legget.
