Mary Atterbury

  General Notes:

Mary was born in the East End of London. In 1911 census, she was living with her parents, 2 brothers and 4 sisters and a lodger in a 2 bedroom home at 123 Duckett Street, Stepney.
By 1921 the family was living at 30 Dupont Street.
When Mary married Albert Victor Pledger they lived with Albert's parents Ernest Edward and Elizabeth Pledger and Albert Victors younger brother Patrick Joseph at 34 Maroon Street.
In 1935 Albert Victor and Mary moved to 50 Stepney Green. They only lived at Steney Green for one year before Albert Victor moved to live with Rosa Forbes and Mary lived at 40 Belgrave street with Ernest and Margaret Tallis.
Mary later lived with Victor Albert Coates for 25 years before they married in the late 1970's. During their early dating they moved from London to Crondall, where Albert had a daughter. Mary missed London, and the East End and went back to live where she wait in a bar for several years, before returning to Crondall to live with Victor Albert. They lived in Redlands Cottage in Redlands Lane, before having a bungalow built in their back orchard. This bungalow would often flood from the local brook. This was one of the reasons they moved to Grange Estate in Church Crookham, a few streets from her twin sister, Betty Twinn.
She later married David in the early 1980s. They lived in Fleet where they met. The both moved together to an old peoples home near Godalming, then later to Aldershot.
