Violet was living with brother Bill in 1972 in Hamilton, Ontario. Violet was known as Atterbury but her married name of Phillips. Violet was visiting Florida and met Ed. Vi went back to England and Ed followed and married her in England, then, remarried in the US. Ed and Vi lived at Whispering Palms in Sebastian Florida in the same community as brother Bill. She later moved to Abaco Court at the Palm Beach club about a mile from Whispering Palms.
