In 1911 George was working at the Daimler Motor Company with his brother in law Charles while living with his sister Ethel.
George was a farmer when he signed the Attestation Papers for the Canadan Overseas Expeditionary Forces on 11th January 1916.
Private George Rand returned to Halifaz, Nova Scotia, Canada departing from Southampton after WW1 on the Mauretania arriving 9 May 1919. He was in thge 8th Regiment Number 125.
George lived in Strasbourg, Saskatchewan initially with his mother and was still living in Strasbourg in 1956.
George returned to England temporarily in 1953
