WW1 Driver in Royal Horse Artillery. Landed in France on 8 Dec 1914. Later transferred to the Labour Corps. Awarded the 1914 star, British War Medal and the Victory Medal. Demobbed on 28 Feb 1919. Moved to Yorkshire. If Walter was a sargeant in 1904, the attached is probably a photo of him driving a Wolesely staff car for W. C. Trusler. Sargeant Dimes was one of the first drivers the Royal Army Service Corp producted.Cat Q 72861 RASC Museum collection.
