General Notes: The Bakewell family originaly in Derbyshire, England, at a very early date, through the registry of the College of Arms locates it in Middlesex, near London, about the middle of the fiftennth century. A branch of the family settled in Leicestershire and founded there the town of Bakewell. This is located in the parish of Bakewell, containing some firty three thousand acres in the Hundred of High Peak Derby. Sarah married Job Atterbury, son of Job Atterbury and Mary Bond, on 4 Jun 1778 in Wellington, Shropshire, England. (Job Atterbury was born on 2 Apr 1754 in Castle Donnington, Leicestershire, England, christened on 7 May 1757 in Rollesdon, Staffordshire, England and died in 1819 in Wilmington, North Carolina, USA.) |
