Mamie's mother died at an early age and Mamie was sent to Germany to live with her aunt and get a German education.
Mamie's wedding certificate that says she was born in Hoboken, New Jersey and her father is Herman Eckhoff and mother Minnie Brutt. Hermans brother could be Diedrich.
In 1880 there is a brother John DV Echoff (1831) who lived with his brother Herman (1834) and John's children Christina (1859), Henrietta (1861), Herman (1863) and Johanna (1868). Previous census shows John living with an elder brother Gerard (1828).
In 1892 state census possibly living in Brooklyn with Diedrick (1845), Sophia (1857) Anne (1880) and Clare (1888). It is not clear if these are parents and siblings.
Prior to marriage lived at 303 Hudson St. Hoboken, New Jersey.
Left a widow with 4 children at aged 37 when her husband died of pneumonia.
