Will of Robert Dymes:
In the name of God Amen, I Robert Dymes of St. George parish, Dorchester in Berkley County, Carolina, being in firm in body of sound and disposing mind and memory thanks to be Almighty God for the same, amd considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, and that it is appointed for all men once to die. Do therefore publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner following and first i resign my soul to the great and most merciful God that made it, in hopes of assuredly beleiving through the alone merits of Jesud Christ my Blessed Lord ans Savour to have a joyfull resurrection to Life Eternal in Heaven. amd my body I commit to the Earth to be decently interred, And as for the Temporal Estate it hath pleased God to bless me with, I give Devise and Dispose of the same as followeth that is to day IMPRIMIS I will that all my just debts and funeral expenses be first paid, ITEM I give and devise and bequeath unto my daughter Ann Dymes, one Negrow Girl named Tenah and her issue, to her and her heirs forever; But if in case my said daughter should die before she arrives and attains to the age of her nineteenth year or her day of marriage, that then the said Tenah and ger issue shall belong unto my beloved wife Jane Dymes and to her heirs forever. ITEM My further will and pleasure is that the whole of my personal estate, of whatkind, nature or quality the same may be of be exposed to sale, as soon as decency will permit, ITEM I give devise and bequeath untol my loving wife Jane Dymes, one third part of my said estate to her and her heirs forever. ITEM I give devise and bequeath until my said daughter Ann Dymes the remaining two thirds of my estate to be delivered unto her by my executor and executrix hereafter named, when she shall arrive and attain to the age of her nineteenth year; or the day of her marriage, that then my will and pleasure is and i do hereby declare that the said dividenf of my said gaughter's share come and belongunto my said wife Jane Dymes and my two nieces Hanna and Ann Dewick to be equally shared between then and to their heirs forever, Lastly I do nominate constutute and appoint Elijah Postee Esw, and Mary Glase to be executor and executrix of this my last will and testament do hereby revoke, disannul and make void all other wills and testaments heretofie made and declared this only to be my last will and testament in witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the nineteenth day of September in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty nine.
