JOHN DIMES (1730-1807) married Sarah Maynard in Crondall on 14 Dec 1755, but the marriage was recorded in Elvetham on 26 Jan 1756. John is first mentioned in the Overseers book in January 1790. 'To John Dimes carrying corpse to church 1s'. He received a regular monthly payment of 6s from the Overseers from January 1800 until it was increased to 10s in 1805. The payments ceased in October 1806, which coincided with the improved fortunes of his son Nathaniel who probably took care of him until his death in May 1807.
John married Sarah Maynard, daughter of John Maynard and Susannah, on 14 Dec 1755 in Crondall, Hampshire, England.
