John Dymes

  General Notes:

John was 16 when his grandmother Mary died and inheritted when he was 20 years old. Other than personal belongings left to his aunt Mary Ann, and land left to his mother Sarah, John inherritted the remainder of his grandmothers estate.

Will of John Dymes of Norwich 1828
I give to my daughter Ann Dennman half a dozen tea spoons and a tablespoon which areiin my own use and as to all the rest and residue of my personal estate and effects subject to and after payment of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expense I give and bequeath the same and every part thereof to my daughter Esther Dymes to and for her own use and benefit but in case of her death in my lifetime then I give and bequeath the same unto and to be equally divided between her six children or such of them as shall be living at my death. I appoint John Pilgrim as sole executor of my will.and request that he may reimburse himself all expenses that he may be put to.

Codicil 14 March 1825
I give to my daughter Ann Denman five shillings in addition to what I given her by my will also to each of the children of my executor John Pilgrim the sum of three pounds to be retained by my executor for their use and I request Mr Pilgrim to keep up my gravestone in such manner as he may think fit. I request all my estates and effects as do not consist of ready money to be sold and the money arising therefrom after payment of my debts and funeral expenses and the legacies I request to be considered as part of the residue of my personal estate and be paid as in my said will.
