Orphaned in 1832 aged 2, and sent to live with James Smith's family. 1841 census living with sister Martha with deceased father's brother Nathaniel at 97 Charlton St., Somerstown, London. 1844 aged 14, back in Crondall. The Bridewell Calendar of prisoners at Winchester Jail, Nathaniel Dimes aged 15, (reads and writes imperfectly) committed 30th March 1844 by J. Birch Esq., for 21 days imprisonment with hard labour for a misdemeanor. He was on charge with Charles Baldwin, aged 14, who reads well. 1872 was a brewer of Southwark. 1901 a watchman of St. Pancras. Between 1902-1904 was admitted to the St, Pancras workhouse, where it is assumed he died in 1904.
