22 October 1823 Settlement order for John, Hannah and Lucy to be removed from Basing to North Warnborough as they had become a charge upon the parish. He had gained a settlement there by living with Mrs Birch at Blounce for more than a year.He was paid 5s 3d a week by North Warnborough. On the 1851 census he is described as a retired soldier. There is no evidence of this. 1841 and 1851 living at Pyards Hill, Basing.
