Robert George Dimes (4577) was born on 20 August 1903 at 75A Ravensbury Rd. Southfields. He spent most of his boyhood at 76 Chestnut Rd. Raynes Park, S.W.20. He attended Whatley Avenue School. While still at school he helped with an early morning milk round for Prewetts Dairies, whose shop was opposite Raynes Park railway station. He then worked there full time until the age of 64 including through WW2 as he was rejected for military service due to poor eyesight. In August 1967 he went into St Helier Hospital with digestive problems but while he was there, Prewetts was taken over by the Express Dairy and he was made redundant, He had a heart attack in the hospital and died on 8 September.
Robert married Kathleen Bull, daughter of Fred Bull and Emma, on 18 Apr 1931 in St. Andrews, Wimbledon, London, England. (Kathleen Bull was born on 11 Dec 1899 in Keysoe, Bedfordshire, England and died on 5 May 1982 in Sutton, Surrey, England.)
