bullet  General Notes:

Jane married Francis Walker in 1763 at the fashionable church of St. George, Hanover Square, by licence, declaring that she was living in the parish of St. James, Westminster. One of the witnesses was her brother William who also lived in Westminster. Jane and Francis settled in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, and thirty years later Francis was buried there. The elderly Jane then employed a companion, Mrs Sarah Newton, until her own sudden death in April 1806 when she was buried by her husband. She drew up her will in 1804 arranging that the £10 a year paid to Mary Carter should be paid to William's daughter Ann after Mary's death, but by the time the will came to probate in 1806 she had crossed out Mary's name, so it appears that Mary had died during that time. Ann along with her brothers William, John and Charles were bequeathed £10 each while William and Thomas Parkhurst and Sarah Port were given £12 each. William Parkhurst had applied to Jane for a loan just before her death so Jane added a codicil that the amount of the loan should be deducted from his legacy. Once the legacies had been paid out the remainder of Jane's estate was left to her brother William.
