Young Thomas had only been married for a few months when he died. In August 1739 he applied for a marriage licence to wed Ann Cook, aged 20 of St. Nicholas parish, Guildford, her father's permission being needed as she was under 21. Thomas was described as being 29, a bachelor, and butcher of St. Mary's. The marriage was set for Michaelmas, a month ahead. Ann possibly returned to her own family as a widow. She was already pregnant and their daughter Ann was baptised at St. Nicholas on 4th May 1740.
Thomas married Ann Cook, daughter of George Cook and Unknown, on 20 Aug 1739 in Saint Mary, Guildford. (Ann Cook was born in Sep 1719 in Guildford, Surrey, England.)
