WW2 joined the London Scottish Artillery Regiment. The regiment was posted to Preston to construct gun emplacements.
In 1944 was shooting down V1's doodlebugs.
In 1945 transferred to another regiment and sent to India.
Demobbed in 1946.
First job was a telegraph boy and then was promoted to postman. Later he was executive officer in the prison section of the Home Office.
1985, 1992 living at 48 Layfield Cresent London NW4.
James married Doris Eva Swettenham, daughter of Living and Living, in 1944 in Hendon, Middlesex, England. (Doris Eva Swettenham was born on 23 Jun 1923 in Bethnal Green, London, England and died on 17 Feb 2013 in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, England.)
