Joane made her will in Brook, near the 'city' of Witney a small villge near Godalming.
Transcript of the will of Joan of Godalming:
In the name of God Amen. 11th day of May 1632. I Joan Dymes of Brooke in the parish of Witley in the County of Surrey, widow, being sick in body but of whole and perfect memory, praise be unto Almighty God. Therefore do I make this my testament containing my last will in manner and form following. First I bequeath my soul to Almighty God my maker and redeemer and my body to the earth from whence it came to be buried in the churchyard of the parish of Witley.
Item. I give and bequeath to Alice Dymes my eldest daughter my brass pot, one ? tablecloth and a pair of pillowslips? (pillobers)
Item. I give and bequeath to Joan Dymes my next eldest daughter one iron pot, a pair of pillo(bers), my joined bedstead, one ? chest, my brass kettle and one kettle of a gallon.
Item. I give and bequeath to Frances Dymes my youngest daughter my feather bed and one pair of sheets, one coverlet, one blanket and one ? sheet, and my ring, one chest, one little box and one brass pan. .
Item. My very will is that all the rest of my goods and the benefit of my lands shall remain to the only bringing up of my aforesaid children aand the payment of my debts and discharging of my funeral expenses at the only discretion of John Wheeler and Henry Peto and them do I put in trust to see my children placed and brought up according to their discretions. And all other wills and testaments I utterly revoke and annul.

Joane married John Dymes, son of John Dymes and Unknown, on 14 Nov 1614 in Godalming, Surrey, England. (John Dymes died in 1631 in Whitley, Surrey, England.)
