Charles was employed as a Porter (lads) at Goring, Tilehurst station from Octobr 1897 until November 1899. On 30th September 1911 Charles married Edith May Drew at St. Michael's Church, Tilehurst. Charles' address was quoted as West View, Victoria Road, Tilehurst. His occupation being a bricklayer. Edith was the daughter of John Drew whose occupation was postmaster of School Road, Tilehurst and had 5 siblings. Their witnesses were Frederick Elder and Elsie Drew (a sister of the bride). In the 1891 and 1901 census Charles was with his parents. The 1911 census shows that Charles was a patient at Charing Cross Hospital. Charles passed away in Reading in 3rd quarter 1972, Edith having passed away early in 1962. Charles and Edith had 3 children.
